Telephoning Your Doctor

Doctors at this practice may be contacted by telephone during surgery hours regarding urgent matters relating to your family's health. However, when doctors are attending to patients when you call, they may be unable to speak to you. We advise that for all non-urgent matters, (eg, health inquiries, pathology results, referrals and health insurance forms) it is best to make an appointment to see the doctor concerned.

Children and Babies

A small play area is provided for children. Feeding area, nappy change area and other facilities for parents with sick babies are also available on request. Very sick children are given priority - please inform our receptionists.

Smoking Policy

There is to be no smoking inside or near the entrance to the building.

Recall System

A consultation with the doctor is required for an initial referral to medical specialists or for tests. This is to enable your doctor to provide appropriate and up to date medical information to the specialist. It is also preferable that you make an appointment to see your doctor to renew any referrals.

As it is illegal to issue back dated referrals, please confirm with your specialist's receptionist when making ongoing appointments as to your referral expiry date.

Repeat Prescriptions

Prescriptions can only be supplied at time of consultations - we cannot supply these by telephone request. A consultation is required for a repeat prescription in order to monitor the medication you are taking.

Sickness and Other Certificates

These cannot be issued or signed without a consultation.

Test Results

It is preferable to have a follow-up consultation with your doctor to obtain and discuss results of tests and any further action which may be required.
